Back in the beginning of the year (2011) we’ve put ourselves to build an App to help higher education students with their research, so we’ve build ArticleSearch for the iPhone, a quick little FREE App that allows students to search multiple libraries and search engines simultaneously. Using ArticleSearch instead of repeating yourself in every single website from every single library or search engine helps a lot, but a little extra is the fact that students can also save and send their findings using simple internet addresses (urls) to colleagues even if they don’t have the ArticleSearch App.
Now we’ve moved the project another step by releasing v.2 and quickly after the v.2.1 as universal App, so it works on the iPad natively. Also to help financing the next steps and to try maintain this “hobby” we’ve added adverts on the App when running on the iPad for people who haven’t bought any “in-app” extension pack (iPhone still with no advertisement at all).
We hope that our 1000′s of users since first release and all the new ones coming daily enjoy the new updated version and we look forward to continue improving it further!

Is with pleasure that we’ve launched the first iPad App based on our innovative “SmartAPP / BSmart” technology. Small Luxury Hotels of the World is a digital version of the internationally recognised brochure of the same name with some extra features that is only possible to active in this digital age, all the tech benefits without loosing the good experience of flipping the pages of a real well produced brochure.
Working in partnership with Strattons media (who produces the Small Luxury Hotels physical brochure) we’ve used the basic SmartApp configuration to provide realistic physical effects based on the actual brochure with an extraordinarily simple edition management and distribution system. All other basic features of the platform is also present, like: keyword searching, favourites, sharing of pages via email, automatic table of contents, natural zoom and gestures, active links for internet addresses and emails, maps and so on.
SLH is a great example on how even the basic deployment of the platform can deliver great experience and easy management. From now on, digital editions will be published simultaneously or even ahead of physical ones, distributed freely over the air to thousands of members and aspiring members all over the world.
